When it comes to turning your desires into reality, what do you have in mind?
Do you think you have to work hard to get there? Or do you wish a fairy would wave a magic wand so that everything would turn out the way you want?
Manifesting our heart’s desires is an art based on core principles. When they are applied consistently with unwavering conviction, we will manifest our desires with greater ease and flow.
To illustrate how to apply 3 of the principles, let me share with you my recent experiences of selling and purchasing my homes.
Principle No. 1 – Listen to that Little Voice and Trust in Universal Timing
Last year around my birthday, the idea of selling my house came to me. I didn’t want more changes in my life because I just left my career of 20+ years. I had thought I needed the stability of my home so that I can focus on my business.
But the little voice, which is how Divine Guidance comes to me, was clear, firm and persistent.
So I approached the two realtors who had helped me before. We started in November, and I must have seen hundreds of houses online. There were a couple of houses that I could live with, but the little voice asked me to wait.
The realtors started wondering if I really wanted to sell my house. They suggested taking a break and returning to the market when it was less hot or competitive. I said no.
Soon after that, I saw this beautiful home where I am living now.
It took six months for this home to be manifested. I was cleaning up my beliefs, thoughts and emotions during the entire period. The effort was rewarding because a six-month “delay” led to additional financial gain.
The world also opened up a lot more in May compared to the winter time. This means it was easier to arrange furniture delivery, donations drop-off, and scheduling service providers for various needs.
As a project manager for 20 years, I took pride in planning for desirable outcome. In many situations, however, letting go of my agenda and trusting the Universe or Divine is a more effective approach. Many factors are beyond my control.
Food for thought:
When was the last time you trusted and acted on your intuition instead of succumbing to the logic and pressure of the mind?
When was the last time you made room for the Universe or Divine to bring what was best for you instead of insisting on what you want?
Conversely, when was the last time you avoided taking responsibilities for your desires by using “I am trusting the Universal Timing” as an excuse?
Principle No. 2 – Be Conscious About Efficient Use of Resources
There is a prevalent belief that the more we do, the greater results we will get.
This is true in certain cases. There are also many situations where strategic inaction coupled with clear intentions can save a lot of legwork, which translates to time, energy and money.
During the 6 months of house hunting, I saw hundreds of homes online, but I only visited a dozen or less in person.
My realtors urged me to lower my standard and visit houses even if they weren’t great candidates. While I understood I could learn from visiting houses, I was cautious about taking time to see houses that didn’t resonate with me.
To increase my chances, my realtors also expanded the search to other cities. I knew in my heart that I wanted to stay in Sacramento. I was not willing to settle by moving further away.
Just because I hadn’t found a house I wanted for months did not stop me from believing that a house that fit my criteria would show up.
There is also the number game – more is not necessarily better.
The realtors and I expected that many people would make offers on my previous house because of its condition and the market. Yet, we got only one offer from the first weekend, and it was an incredible and perfect offer on so many levels.
You might have heard that people make offers way above asking prices because of the competitive market. I listened to my intuition to not overbid on the house I wanted. I was aware of the risks, and I am glad my offer was accepted.
Questions for reflection:
When was the last time you overcompensated out of fear or scarcity mindset?
Do you tend to diversify your interests and energy so much that lead to overwhelm and incompletions?
Principle No. 3 – Be Open to Receive Help in All Forms
Perhaps it is stemmed from the do-it-yourself culture, being willing to receive help is one of the hurdles for many people, including me.
We might be so focused on being independent that we forget that we, as humans, are meant to support and collaborate with each other.
I wasn’t feeling well one day and couldn’t keep the appointment for picking the flooring material for the new house. The escrows of both houses were closing within one week of each other, and timing was tight.
I asked one of my realtors to help me. She went above and beyond to select the material and installer for me. Because of her background in architecture, she did a much better job than I could have.
When I thought I needed help on something, I would ask myself how I could receive more help this day. Assistance would then come from various sources, including people I knew or new neighbors I barely knew.
Having a group of friends pray for me or hold my intentions regularly is also important. Prayers are great because they work no matter where we are geographically!
The day before I found my new home, I had a conversation with the realtors about not finding my home after 6 months. After I pointed out that the three of us were not quite aligned in this “project,” one of the realtors offered to pray for me right there. I felt a shift immediately.
One of the most unexpected help I got was the weather. The days before the move were over 100 degrees Fahrenheit. On the day of my move, the temperature dropped by at least 20 degrees. It was a breezy and beautiful day.
When we are truly open, help comes to us in so many forms.
But when we think it’s not worth it, I am not worth it, or let me prove how I can make this work, then we will encounter more situations that reinforce what we think and believe.
To see if you are truly open to getting more help in manifesting your desires, ask yourself:
When was the last time I did not get help because I believed it was too time-consuming, expensive, or not worth it?
When was the last time I asked for help from someone outside of my comfort zone or circle?
When we see wonderful things happen to people, we might think they are lucky. I believe:
“Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity.”
I first heard this quote from Oprah and I found out recently that it was Seneca, a Roman philosopher, who said this.
Manifestation of our heart’s desires is a result of inner transformation combined with opportunities presented by the Universe or the Divine.
When our lives are too busy or cluttered, there is no room to tune into inner guidance. We are too foggy to see our way through new possibilities. The noisy mental chatter also makes it hard to trust ourselves.
As a result, we tell ourselves difficulties and obstacles are part of life, and there is no way around it. This mindset shuts down our creative power on so many levels.
The more challenges there are in life, the more we gravitate towards the familiar territory. The false sense of safety causes us to keep carrying burdens that we want to shed.
We might say we want healthier bodies, enriching relationships, financial abundance, or incredible transformations, but our actions do not fully align with our words.
The level of alignment needed for manifesting our heart’s desires is astounding!
Here is an opportunity to help you let go of burdens, create more spaciousness within so that you can be more aligned to manifest your heart’s desires:
