Power of the Subtle

My vision dramatically improved after a fine adjustment my optometrist made to my new glasses. The experience reminded me that subtleties can make huge differences in our communications and healing journeys.

I had a colleague who struggled with being heard. She would make an important point in a meeting, but no one would hear it. Someone else made a similar remark later and was acknowledged for having a good point.

Quite a few people experience a similar phenomenon, and I was one of them.

Research in communication shows our messages are conveyed as follows:

  •  7% through our words
  • 38% through our paralanguage (how we express, emotional content)
  • 55% through body language

If we are on the phone, 17% of the message comes from words, and 87% comes from paralanguage. Paralanguage and body language are more subtle than words, yet they play a bigger role in conveying our meaning.

Our energy subtly affects how we frame our messages. The energy emanating from a speaker has a huge impact on how well a message is received. If we are not congruent between our heart and mind, our message gets distorted.

If a person is overwhelmed, their message gets scrambled energetically, which leads to misunderstanding. When both the speaker and listener are stressed, the distortion in the energy field increases, leading to more confusion.

Communication is an energetic exchange. Instead of listening to words and tone, listen with your whole body. It helps discern the state and intent of the speaker while filtering extraneous information to get to the core issue.

In a culture where we focus a lot on the thinking mind, it takes practice to listen with the body. Your body might speak to you through tingling sensations or goosebumps. I feel subtle energy coursing through my body if there is a strong resonance. If someone is not resonating, my body feels flat.

Energy precedes matter, and it affects so much more than communication. Every object, person, situation, and experience in the visible world comes into being because of its energy.

Whether it is about healing the body or manifesting our desires, working with energy is essential. If we do not work with the energetics, we can spend years or decades working towards our goals and yield minimal results.

Energy preceding matter also means that the energy field of a person was compromised before an injury or illness. This also means that the body can recover much faster and better if the energy field is repaired or addressed.

From my experience with Divine Mother Energy Healing, healing does not begin with the actual session. It begins the moment a client commits to a Yes.

A client had a dream the night before our first session. She saw a beloved, who had transitioned to the other side, showing her tender loving support. For someone who was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, the dream was a balm to her heart, giving her a boost to her healing journey.

Another client told me a strange dream she had the night before our coaching session. Her description of the dream led me to offer ancestral clearing for her. After the clearing, her asthma of 10+ years went away.

Clearing the asthma was an important step towards turning her desires into reality. Unresolved energy around the respiratory system affects the health of the chest and throat. It also affects how we show up in the world.

That’s the big difference between curing and healing. Curing is often about being symptom-free, resolving an ailment, or body returning to a healthy state. Healing addresses the whole system. It is a way to polish ourselves.

On a healing journey, we may or may not get what we originally wanted. Our preferences become far less important when we connected with our sense of Self. We become more at peace, deeply appreciating all that is here.

In that state of acceptance, we are no longer bound by the preconceived notion of what will make us happier, more popular or successful. We are in the flow, and luck is on our side. We see and experience life from a whole new level.

When I think of the difference between curing and healing, this quote from the movie Patch Adams came to mind:

“You treat a disease, you win, you lose. You treat a person, I guarantee you, you’ll win, no matter what the outcome.”

Turning towards the subtleties is a powerful way to navigate through the maze of life. Subtleties help us get to the root of issues. For greater ease and flow, stop buying into the appearance of situations, or whoever is the loudest.

With Love and Humility,
