One of the most precious attributes we can cultivate is our inner sight. With outer vision, we see the external world with our eyes. With inner sight, we connect with the wealth of information and experiences in the subconscious.
The subconscious stores our patterns and beliefs, and it also houses our treasures. When we unlock the treasure chest, we free ourselves from constraints, opening us to access wisdom for healing and living our best lives.
Many of us try to minimize or avoid pain when we bump up against displeasure. Another approach is to connect with visions that are so potent and affirming that allow us to access the wherewithal within to rise above our circumstances.
A picture is worth a thousand words.
We can spend years talking and thinking about issues. When we connect with the inner vision that holds the key to resolving the discords, we loosen our grip on what we think is true. Situations resolve as a result of our internal shifts.
Incredible openings occur when my clients go beyond their 5 senses. Impending diagnoses, tumultuous relationships, long-standing self-defeating habits, grief from losses, and so on resolve quickly and gracefully.
Regardless of our circumstances, a common hindrance is relying on outdated constructs and tools that have served us for a long time. When we want to step up, reliable tools from the past are often insufficient to meet the greater needs.
For example, we learned ways to protect ourselves from trouble, pain and suffering early in life, but those behaviors or fool-proof tools that have helped us for years may actually hinder us from meeting bigger goals later in life.
Protection from pain comes in many forms: some put on extra weight to ward off unwelcome attention; others focus on helping others to avoid facing their own pain; and there are those who try bazillion ways to feel better but never stick with any long enough to resolve the deeper causes.
When I found out I was empathic, I learned techniques to keep me from being drained. The tools helped me regain my footing. When I got better, I realized the spirit behind those tools was about blocking people or their energy out.
While the tools protected me from being drained by negativity, they also blocked wonderful people and circumstances entering into my life. As a result, my life felt like three steps forward and two to three steps back.
Many protective strategies are unconscious and have a narrow focus. When the desire for a far better future is stronger than the fear of pain, we become open to unforeseeable resources that move us in leaps and bounds.
If survival is the main goal, there are tools to help us minimize pain and feel safe. If the goal is to bloom where we are planted, different tools are needed.
To live an enriching and fulfilling life, going beyond our 5 senses is the key to transcending our perceived limitations and developing our potential in ways that are not commonly taught.
On Saturday, August 16 I will host a webinar where I will talk about how we can cultivate our capacities to live our best lives. Sign up using this link – Uplevel Healing, Renew Your Life.
