Feeling free to be and do what we desire is priceless. In the process of freeing ourselves, it is important that we reconcile any regret or remorse we hold on to. We cannot undo the past, but we can change how we think and feel about it.
When we are haunted by our mistakes or blame ourselves for problems, we carry a dark cloud around us. Over time, it sets the stage for an acidic environment in the body, causing inflammation and chronic health conditions.
Mistakes and oversights are part of life journeys. What matters is our attitude towards them.
To avoid repeating the same blunders, we might become critical, controlling, or hypervigilant. This works until we realize it is exhausting. This orientation also increases stress level, which is another pathway to chronic health issues.
We might use use positive thinking to deal with unpleasant situations. The mind is quick to jump to rationalization or analysis. Learning to be present with emotions is a practice. Using thoughts to override emotions is a default.
A woman shared her strategy of forgiveness. She rationalized that the perpetrator had a soul and it was only his behavior that was the problem. That is a form of spiritual bypass that some people use to avoid feeling the pain.
For us to truly heal, forgiveness cannot be approached at the thinking level alone. We need to find out where the emotions are trapped in the body so that we can release them and make peace with the past.
When we forgive, we free ourselves from the burden. This helps us make choices from a place of compassion instead of fear or worry. We are present and objective because our thinking is not clouded by unresolved emotions.
When we carry emotional baggages for a while, we are not aware of the water we swim in. Situations seem complicated and choices are limited. Since these baggages tend to accumulate with time, life seems more confining as we age.
Many complications my clients have can be traced back to family history. Reconciliation at the soul level is often needed so that my clients and their families can be freed from the engrained dynamics.
We all have lessons our souls want to learn. When the intensity of these lessons seem unbearable, we can renegotiate the soul agreements to ameliorate the intensity while honoring the soul lessons.
Reconciliation at the soul level works whether the issue involves people who are alive or have passed on. The process also works with souls who didn’t make it to a human body, as in the case of miscarriages.
As we free ourselves, we liberate those we have soul contracts with. When we make peace with our past, the lightness of our being uplifts those around us.
