Create Your Life with Your Words

When I ask my clients about what they want, they usually say something vague like “I want to be healthy or happy.” Then their responses quickly turn into detail account on what isn’t working or what they do not want.

It’s as if they have been so immersed in their pain and struggles that they can’t see or have forgotten different ways of living. Sometimes I sense that they are holding onto their pain for fear of abandoning their loved ones. Being loyal causes them to abandon themselves.

To set a solid foundation for our work together, I reframe clients’ concerns to be a succinct intention that inspires them to cross the threshold and opens them to new possibilities.

Intentions are different from goals. Crafting an intention the right way helps us access the underlying emotions, energy and drive that will help us reach our goals and beyond.

Our word choices matter, especially when it comes to how we relate our conditions. When we say “my back pain” or “I am overwhelmed” we are claiming these conditions as us. Conditions come and go, and they do not define us.

It is important to differentiate our conditions from our identities. Simple reframing, such as “the back pain in my body” or “I feel overwhelmed” makes a difference in our abilities to broaden our perspectives and rise above our circumstances.

There are times when acknowledging the unpleasant conditions is appropriate, and there are times we need to reframe our stories to support our journeys. If we get into the habit of spiritual bypassing, we are not being true to ourselves.

Healing and manifestation will not last if we are not authentic. When we are not honest with ourselves, our energy is not congruent. Distortions in our field cause misperceptions that in turn lead to unintended consequences.

In my earlier attempt of self-healing, I dialogued with the tumors regularly. It was an amazing process that helped me connect with many parts of myself that I would not have normally.

During the dialogue, I heard voices of confusion, despair, anger, and so forth. I have also gained insight about the totality of me. The most memorable voice was an innocent and tender voice saying “they” wanted to help me.

Befriending all parts of me was critical in helping me leaving the old life for something more fulfilling and enriching.

Another way to use words to help ourselves is affirmations. I have seen folks trying to override their negative thoughts and situations with affirmations. That only takes us so far because it’s working with the conscious mind.

Working with the subconscious is a lot more effective because 90-95% of our actions, behaviors and decisions are driven by the subconscious mind. Shifting one’s energy is a great way to clear the subconscious clutter.

Energy comes before matter. We can manifest what we want or change our situations through the throat energy center. However, this is sustainable only when all other energy centers are communicating with each other. This allows the conscious and subconscious mind to be in sync.

True manifestation is not just about getting what we want here and there. It is a way of being that allows us to fire on all cylinders. When we are not living that way, it’s because the conscious and subconscious mind are not communicating with each other.

We can be very knowledgeable about how to be healthier and happier but we just don’t seem to be able to get around to it. We may look like we do everything perfectly, yet we can’t reach our goals. And even if we appear successful and have everything we want, we still feel something is missing, so we work harder trying to fill the void.

My favorite way to manifest my desires through words is the gratitude or appreciation practice.

Out of our survival mechanism, the mind tends to look for what’s wrong in the world. A gratitude practice trains the mind to look for what is going well in our world. The more we practice, the more we neutralize the negative bias of the mind. We will also encounter more serendipities.

With the holidays coming up, it’s a great opportunity for all of us to express our gratitude in a thoughtful and heartfelt way.

I am grateful for your engagement in my blog. Thank you for letting me know how the messages have been timely for you, and how my stories have touched and inspired you.

You interest motivates me to take my creative expression to a new level. Writing the blog has become a practice to cultivate deeper connection with Divine Mother. Every month I turn to Divine Mother for guidance on what topic to focus on and ways to frame the messages.
