Allow Your Spirit to Soar

On the first day of my Ayurvedic training, the founder of the school planted a seed in me. He said:

The primordial or root cause of diseases is forgetting our true nature as spirit.

I was intrigued by his remark, but my mind was preoccupied with other new concepts and Sanskrit terms. It has taken me a while to realize how profound that remark is.

My uncle recently passed away peacefully during his sleep. I wasn’t close to him, but somehow we got reconnected during the last two months of his life.

When I chatted with my uncle, he sounded frail. Many situations in his world were troubling him. I sensed certain energies were weighing him down, so I offered my help.

A month before he passed away, he called and thanked me for my help. His situation did not improve significantly, but he sounded lighter and said he knew how to move forward.

It was one of the most memorable conversations. It felt like we were having a conversation at the soul level.

I now realize he was thanking me for clearing his old baggages. Because of our time together, he was ready and free to go. He was also using his situation as a catalyst for his family to get help from me after he left his body.

From the perspective of eradicating diseases, one might consider the healing didn’t work because his ailments weren’t resolved. At the soul level, however, he is liberated from suffering and has reunited with his spirit.

It was affirming when I came across a beautiful crane the afternoon before I found out about his passing. In the 20+ years living in Sacramento, I had never seen a creature like that!

I have helped a few family members during the last phase of their human journeys. I have also helped clients connect with loved ones from the other side. Yet I had not felt the love from the other side until my uncle’s passing.

The decluttering of my energy field and healing of my physical body is helping me to perceive the love that is available. As I grieve his passing, I also feel the immense love and gratitude from his spirit.

My uncle’s transition showed me the false sense of separation many of us have between human and spirit, and why remembering our true nature as spirit can heal diseases.

The original meaning of the word disease is lack of ease, distress, or trouble. What if distress is an invitation to reignite or deepen our connection with spirit so that we can live an enriching life instead of suffering?

If we recognize our nature as spirit, death is not a barrier between us and those we love. Death is an invitation for us to connect with the invisible realm. We can grieve our loss while feeling the love that holds and nourishes us.

Honoring our oneness with spirit requires us to stay connected with our bodies. Spirit moves through us as energy in our bodies. It’s harder to discern the presence of spirit if we are too focused on the thinking mind.

To strengthen your connection with spirit, treat your body like a temple.

Our bodies filter and translate high vibrational impulses from spirit to practical insights for our daily use. It’s like a step-down transformer. If you use food, alcohol, recreational drugs, etc. to numb your feelings, it distorts the signal.

When you forget your nature as spirit, dis-ease may show up as losing the spark in your eyes, unsatisfying work, troubling relationships, health challenges, etc. They are reminders to make different choices and turn to spirit for help.
